Dear everyone, Miami writing!
As David nicely mentioned it, I have been out for some time. My apologies, here I am, back on track!
About two weeks ago, I went to a whole new place called Key Biscayne. This is the first official Key of Florida. Some people do not really consider it as a Key, since it is attached to the land by a bridge, but I like to think that I went to one of those famous Keys!
You all probably know already how much I love the buses in Florida. Here again, I have experienced a lovely and of course epic journey to get there... But first of all, let me introduce my trip partners: Savéria and Louise. Savéria is here for one year and came to Miami at the time time as I did, so we may have a lot of moments in common for the coming months! And Louise is a friend who visited her for about 2 weeks.

All three of us met each other at Omni, my favorite bus station. To get there has become understandable for me (one bus that I take in front of my complex). Once we met each other, it became a bit more complicated. After losing ourselves in the MetroMover and MetroRail about 3 times, we finally got to our next bus stop. The whole trip last for over 2 hours... But we finally made it to Key Biscayne! The island seemed a lot smaller on Google Maps than it actually is! As every time in Miami, it is quite tough to get from one point to another without a car, but we are resourceful, we can do this!
To go to the beach from the road, you have no other choice than crossing a place where many families were enjoying a picnic. This is only half reassuring, since it is already 2:30pm and we did not have either lunch or breakfast. And indeed, we kept walking along the beach and only could have "lunch" at 4:30pm. But the ocean was more than worth it, as you can see on the pictures!
Key Biscayne looks wonderful. From what I heard, only very wealthy people can afford to live there. We saw many tennis courts, the beach is pretty nice and never-ending and the people are in a good mood. What else can you expect?
I was hoping to see the beautiful park that Saveria and Louise had talked so much about (and that they heard about in their guides), but at 5:15 I decided I would go back home, because, obviously, I have plans for the night and you never know how long it will take to go home. I missed the bus and had to wait one hour at the bus stop, time during which the mosquitoes decided I was a good meal for them...
Anyway, it was a very enjoyable walk followed, of course, by a party in a night club!
You will learn a lot more very soon!
xoxo, D.
