[Delphine] Local entertainment

Dear everyone, Miami writing!

During the past few weeks, I had the chance to enjoy many different local possibilities to distract myself. Let's go through them by chronological order.

Friday 30st - The Falls
To celebrate the end of a work mission, I went with a coworker/friend Alexia to a mall called The Falls in South Miami. As every American mall, it is very modern, very well maintained and welcoming. Since we went there on a Friday, there were not many people so it actually was nice to walk around, go window-shopping and enjoy this unplanned day-off.

Those American know how to sell!

Monday 3rd - Food trucks
That Monday, Alexia and I went to a place where there are a lot of food trucks. This "event" takes place every Monday in Hollywood, which is located between Aventura and Fort Lauderdale. The nice thing is that very few people know about this so there are no tourist, only local people hanging out and eating junk food. So American...

 Thursday 6th - Art Miami
During all that week, it was the very famous event called Art Basel in Miami Beach. It started in 1970 and has become the most popular worldwide art show for modern and contemporary art. This event has generated many other art shows of the same kind. Now, during the Art Basel week, all Miami is transformed in an art city. This gave me the opportunity to go to Art Miami with Alexia, another place of the same type, located close to my work (I may remind that I am working in Design District, the place to be for art). Here are a few of the pieces of art that I saw:

Wednesday 12th - Basketball game Heat vs. Warriors
I went to this game with Gigi. I am so glad we met each other because she's always motivated for everything! Plus I need to add that we went to the game through a special event: the Jewish Heritage Night. Before the game, they gave us t-shirts, there was Israeli music outside the American Airlines Arena (name of the stadium where the Miami Heat always play). The ambiance was already great before the game...but it was nothing compared to what it was during the game!
The whole stadium was full of Heat supporters following the instructions written on the big screens. When the Heat were attacking, everyone was screaming "Let's go HEAT!", when the Warriors were attacking we had to scream "de-fense!" and when the Warriors were trying to score for a penalty, the screens showed instructions like "make some noise" and the crowd started "booing" the team!! Very fairplay indeed :)
And the game was amazing because both teams were so close every time! 10 seconds before the end the score was 95 vs 95! On the last seconds, the Warriors scored 2 points making their team win. Obviously, I was disappointed, but this experience has been one of the best!

It doesn't look like it but we could see very well the game!!

You will learn a lot more very soon!
xoxo, D.
